I have about six hanks of the medium weight STR and I felt HORRIBLE saying it because I felt in the minority, I just didn’t like it. I wanted to like it, I TRIED to like it, I even begged the knitting Gods to “let me see the light” so to speak. In the end, I hated how thick it was and there was no changing my mind:( I prefer my socks to NOT “stand alone” if ya know what I mean. I knit a really nice pattern with it, tried them on and hated them:( They would be ok for house socks only in the winter and fall but I could never wear my sneakers or loafers with them. I could also possibly wear them with snow boots but that is it.
