I think I remember once upon a time you expressed interest in knitting this shawl. If I’m wrong, sorry, and please disregard this comment.
The KAL is simply a thread within the Stranded Group within Ravelry. Cast-On for most of us will be mid-April but the KAL thread was created yesterday so people have time to acquire supplies and get ready. Join us if you are interested or just keep an eye on the thread and be a ‘spectator’.
