WIPs that is.
I was hooked as soon as Moyen Age was published a few weeks ago – great cables, fitted silhouette, awesome neckline. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
I vowed to wait until I found the right yarn and that finally happened yesterday when I came across 4 skeins of Tosh Merino Light in Baltic. It’s a blue with a tinge of green in it. And like all Madtosh yarns, the depth of the color is amazing.
I had some trouble picking a size. I’m smaller than I’ve been in a long time and the measurements just don’t seem right. Add to the confusion that I plan to lose an additional 10-15 pounds.
After a lot of hemming and hawing (I’ve never typed that phrase before and it looks a little odd but Google confirms it’s correct) I decided on a size. It’ll be touch and go until I knit enough for me to be able to try it on.
I’m lucky that I love knitting this pattern. It’s just the right combo of simple – ribbing or st st – with a beautiful cable and a gorgeous yarn. And after those lace shawls, knitting 212 sts per round seems to fly.
I can’t believe I just said that.
Things do change. And hopefully they’ll continue to change and banish my garment curse because I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to wear this at Rhinebeck. This year.
I’ll catch you on the purl side.
It will be so gorgeous in that midnight blue! I think it’s feasible for Rhinebeck if you are monogamous 😉
Ooooh that is some beautiful knitting. The biggest question i have is ..why count?
Meaning why count WIPs, just knit and be happy!
I hadn’t seen that pattern yet… and agree that it is a beauty. As for the yarn, wowza it is pretty. This is going to be spectacular!
So pretty…
That is going to be stunning in that color of MadTosh!
