I swear I didn’t mean to do it. I was just browsing at Loop when I realized they had it. THE yarn. Blue Skies Alpaca Sport.
When I saw the pattern for the Turkish Wrap in VK Fall 05 I immediately liked it but I didn’t like the colorway for me. I thought I’d change around the colors but I’m not a fan of picking out colors online. I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to shell out the bucks for this wrap in Alpaca.
But once I saw the yarn at Loop I decided I had to have it! After about 45 minutes of swapping out yarns I picked out these colors. All in all I’ve cooled down the palette, removed the bright reds, and replaced them with greens. I hope I picked out good colors. My last color-choosing experience wasn’t so fruitful.
I’m off to cast-on now so it shouldn’t be long before we know how I did!
Ohhh – I am dying to knit that! Just afraid (like you) of changing the colors. I can’t wait to see it.
This is why I love you and your blog. Just browsing. Hmmm. That doesn’t sound at ALL familiar.
Also, I want to knit that TOO. AND River. And, like, everything else you suggest. You should be a hypnotist… ;-);-)
That’s my favorite yarn and I love the colors you chose. Dont you just love how Loop hypnotizes you into buying? you go there with such good intentions…
I’ve suddenly taken a liking to that wrap too but am overwhelmed with choosing the “right” colors. I’ll be interested in seeing how yours turns out. I love the colors that you picked.

Your colors are great! I just took a look at the pattern and look forward to hear how the whole managing three to FOUR colors (!!) per row works!
The colors are great…can’t wait to see you all swatched up!
I can’t wait to see that. I’m broke right now so I’ll be living knitting life through you and the other blogstrisses.
That is a lovely wrap–I still have not picked up the VK, but it looks like I need to with that lovely piece (and the others I have heard about!)
I love the colors you chose. Beautiful combos.
Have a nice Sunday, Jody 😉
That looks very promising. I too have been fighting off the colour bug lately. Intarsia makes so many people cringe, but I have no fear. I will watch with interest.
This project interests me, too. I’m excited to see yours in the works.
beautiful colours. i’m longing to see how they look in this pattern
That wrap is going to be gorgeous. And I really like the colors you picked out for it. I think it will be just as lovely as the photo, if not more.
I had the same thoughts about the Turkish wrap – love the pattern, want to change the colors a little…can’t wait to see how yours is going to look!
What lovely colors. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I just finished that cape and love it. I will warn you; I ran out of black. It may not hurt to pick up a second skein.
