What a Week

Could we have a busier week in the knitting world?
Eunny blows us all away with the announcement of the year. Go, Eunny! I cannot wait to see what you do with IK. You’ve earned this — enjoy!
Kim Hargreaves unveils her newest collection. I love Willow and Petal (sans beads and with purls instead).

Cookie A opens her website to sell her beautiful new sock patterns that she debuted at Stitches West.
Classic Elite is following the ranks of Berroco and JCA by announcing they’re hiring Pam Allen as their creative director.
All this and it’s only Tuesday.
I’ve been working hard to keep track of possible knits when Cristina let me know that she’s created a Future Handknit Projects Pool. This has been a great way for me to get organized with possible projects and inspiration. I’m always excited to see what others notice and pick out as their favorites.
Speaking of favorites, did you see
Julia’s gorgeous Celtic Dreams sweater? I have such admiration for someone who can complete such a big project. I just haven’t been able to finish such a monumental project yet.

  1. Lots of exciting things happening. Can’t wait to see what they bring.
I am with you, those KH are just beautiful…I just wish she would sell the patterns separately.

  2. i hadn’t heard of pam allens move…and i’m so glad you’ve drawn attention to the peach little number by kim hargreaves – it’s killing me with it’s awesome design & shaping.

  3. hhmmm, so THAT’S what pam allen is doing now that she’s leaving IK. i was wondering about that. where did you see the news?

  4. Thanks for letting us know about the Future Handknits Flickr group! I’ve been doing the same thing, going back through old magazines and books! So much better than my handwritten list. Fun to see what others have found!

  5. There has been lots of good knitting news recently! I’m totally coveting the Petal sweater, in the same beadless configuration as you. I wish those patterns were sold without the yarn – I have a bunch of 4ply cotton in the stash, so I may try to improvise my own.

  6. enticing projects come way too fast. i doubt i could knit everything i wanted even if i could knit all day, every day!
Thanks for the link to the Future Handknits pool. It’s really a fantastic resource!

  7. You are right – so much going on! Thanks for the heads-up on the new KH collection. Isn’t that Flickr group fun? I joined awhile back and have been enjoying all of the photos. I just love Flickr in general :)
