Lit Knits Giveaway Winner
Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway. I knew the Robin Hoodie was a great design but wow – more than half of the entrants selected the Robin Hoodie as their favorite!
However, the winning post selected Behind the Garden Wall. Congrats, Rachelle! I’ve sent your info to Audry so she can send you your eBook!
A new WIP
I’ve been going on and on about how I need a cowl. Not just any cowl. The perfect cowl.
Then, earlier this week, Laura Aylor’s Tuck popped in my pattern recommendations. It’s the perfect cowl for me.
- Uses sport or DK weight yarn but it’s easily modified for other gauges (I’m using fingering weight).
- Garter stitch makes it easy to pick up and put down.
- It’s tied so it’s easy to get on without messing my hair but nice and snug once I get it on.
- It’s two colors but isn’t done with intarsia.
I cast on late last night and got through a bit of the first color. I had to restart because I didn’t read the directions and was slipping incorrectly. That was all on me – the pattern clearly states what to do. The knitter? Doesn’t read what’s clearly stated. sigh
I’m using two colors of Jojoland Melody that I originally bought for an Aranami shawl.
The yarn should be a great match for a cowl. I tried using Melody for a pair of socks and it fuzzed up just while ripping it. A cowl should be a better fit for this soft wool yarn.
I think Tuck will go quickly – and that’s a good thing. I need to have that FO feeling soon – it’s September people and my last FO was in June – and I need a cowl. It’s getting chilly in the mornings and evenings now.
I’ll catch you on the purl side.
That cowl will be beautiful in those colors!
What a great cowl pattern! Another one fir the queue.
Definitely a keeper! Another one for my huge pile of patterns!
